For the first time in 43 years, Taal volcano erupted in Luzon in the Philippines . The Washington post reported that there were 595 volcanic earthquakes since that Sunday, with 30 on Thursday within 10 hours alone. The Philippine institute of Volcanology and seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported that it shows “continuous magnetic intrusion” which could possibly lead to more volcanic activity. The ash gushed over 8 miles into the air, which is turn created (volcanic) lightning. A heavy ash poured down on towns and covered everything. The alert got up to a number 4 out of 5. CNN reported that a number around that of 70,000 people had evacuated their homes and were seeking shelter in many different evacuation centers. The area is still recovering.
