Paige Hassen: JRN

For this past week’s class, we practiced shooting a ‘sportrait’ for our assignment, which incorporates a sports portrait. The CMU women’s club basketball team was generous in letting us work with some of them for this assignment.

For this assignment, I really wanted to incorporate the basket in the back of the shot. Playing basketball in my past, I had some ideas in my head that I thought would potentially work well with this assignment, and they turned out great!! Cheveney was a great subject! I really worked to try and frame the basket around the subject, as you can see in the first two photos. For the third photo, I really wanted to do a wider shot that showcases the Flying C that is dead center on the court, since it also showcases CMU. I think they turned out well, and I am looking forward to shooting the rest of this assignment.
