Central Michigan University sophomore Sophie Sikowski is studying Human Resource Management.
Growing up, Sikowski wanted to study psychology. During one class at CMU, she realized that psychology was not for her after a test in class made her cry in the front row. Given her mom works in HR, Sikowski was hired as an intern for a HR firm last summer. Realizing that she loves to work with people, Sikowski knew she wanted to do this for the rest of her life and switched her major when the new school year started.
With the stress of switching a major, she focused on the things she loved, listening to music, reading a plethora of books, and participating in Film Society.
Film Society is a student organization at CMU designed for students to immerse themselves in film, whether that be writing scripts, directing or producing films, acting, editing, etc.
Joining Film Society in the Fall of 2022 and spending a year in the club, Sikowski knew she wanted a bigger role in the organization next year. Sikowski ran for Vice President and won, already coming up with ideas for next year.
The last meeting of the year was on Tuesday, April 25, 2023. They will meet again in the fall.
“I just love the people,” Sikowski said, continuing that Film Society was a highlight of her year.
