My purpose in photography.
My experience:
To put it plainly, I loved this assignment. I go through my photographs on a daily basis, so this assignment was almost like a passion project for me.
This past year, my love for photography has flourished. Getting the experience of a lifetime in studying abroad, I had no choice but to take photos of everything, and I can actually see the improvement in my skills in real time through my photos.
Premier pro gave me a little bit of trouble when editing, so I hope to learn how to work through those problems in my future assignments. For example, the pictures are not full screen in the video. I’m not sure why or what happened, but that’s how premier pro inputted it. Obviously, I would like this to change.
I like telling stories. I think that’s part of the “journalist” part of “photojournalist,” the love for writing. I wrote this script pretty quickly. Although I technically went over the time limit, I still feel as though I had so much to say.
I am someone who loves to share. I mean absolutely LOVES to share. Some of my photos, especially the ones from Italy and France, are flashed pretty quickly throughout the video. I would have preferred to elongate that, and I already deleted half the ones I wanted to include, but I still should learn how to dilute a bit more.
Overall, I really enjoyed this assignment. It reminded me of my love for photography and honestly reignited my passion for it, too. It can become pretty discouraging when you feel burn-out in terms of photos to shoot. This brought back a little bit of the pure love I have for it.
